AppleCare+ Now Covers Lost And Stolen iPhones – Review Geek

Believe it or not, AppleCare + has never covered lost or stolen iPhones – until today. Apple has quietly extended its AppleCare + protection plans to cover not only accidental damage, but also lost or stolen devices.

Most insurance plans provided by mobile operators typically cover lost or stolen smartphones. Lose your phone, you can pay a deductible to your operator and they give you a replacement device. We do not recommend getting insurance provided by the carrier over AppleCare but at least that's an option.

Apple, however, never had a program like this before. The new plan (available only for iPhones currently and not for other AppleCare + products) covers lost or stolen devices. Theft and loss coverage adds $ 100 more to the normal AppleCare + price.

This puts the price of owners of iPhone XS and XS Max at $ 299 (instead of $ 199). IPhone owners XR, 8 Plus and 7 Plus pay $ 249 (instead of $ 149). Only owners of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 8 get a break, paying only $ 70 more ($ 199 compared to the standard $ 129 coverage).

For this fee increase, you get two years warranty, two years free phone support, accidental damage cover and coverage in case of loss or flight. Unfortunately, the franchises are as steep as you imagine:

These prices are certainly much better than having to buy a new iPhone in the event of a lost or stolen phone, but your wallet will suffer. However, if you are seriously worried about your phone getting bigger (or missing it on your travels), a $ 100 bonus compared to your regular AppleCare + 3-5 times that on a new phone.
